Checklist for renting a flat in Mumbai, the hub of Bollywood

The city of Mumbai is the most populous metropolitan area in India. Do you want to know why this city is so populated? Firstly, it is the Bollywood hub of the country. All the major film stars reside in the city of Mumbai. So, there are many people who come from other parts of the country to make a living by being a part of the glorious Hindi film industry. There are also many foreigners who come to Mumbai in order to bag a job of back-up dancers in Bollywood films. In such a case, it is essential to find a place that is not only close to the famous production houses, but is also comfortable for their daily wants and needs. For this reason, I have chalked out a checklist that every visitor who comes to Mumbai must look up and ensure that these facilities are available.

Location:

Check the distance between the famous production houses and the house you have chosen. The reason is you might not be too keen on travelling for long hours every day. This is why there should be a fine balance between budget and location.

State of the house:

Before you purchase a flat, always ensure that you do a thorough check for any leakage, electrical problem, cracked window or plumbing issue. Irrespective of who hands over the house to you, ensure that it is in a proper condition. You obviously wouldn’t want a house that is full of problems, would you? So ensure you check it well before buying it.

Amenities:

Check and see if all the daily essentials that you need are near your house. Amenities like grocery stores, pharmacy, doctor, banks and so on, should be a stone’s throw away from your flat. Although everything is available on the internet, it’s obvious that it won’t be delivered to you within 5 minutes. If you have moved to Mumbai with kids, you would need parks, recreational centres, schools and open areas at comfortable spaces.

Other amenities:

Just because you are living on a tight budget, you should not stop enjoying. Look out for malls, entertainment hubs, bookstores, coffee shops, etc.

Electricity & Water:

There are many areas in Mumbai that face electricity and water issues, but luckily, luxury flats do not feel the pinch of electricity and water issues.

Thus you see, properties in Juhu, Andheri and Goregoan are the safest bets for you to purchase a house if you are planning to struggle to be a part of the glamorous industry.

Buying a residential property in Mumbai is absolutely worth it, irrespective of which area you choose. Just ensure it provides all the amenities that one needs to live a relaxed life.
